Providing affirming, supportive psychotherapy for adults and adolescents.
Professional Background
After receiving a BA in Business, Organizations, and Society from Franklin & Marshall College, and following years of working in the corporate sector, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Silberman School of Social Work, Hunter College. I began my MSW training at the LGBT Center in Manhattan. There, I provided therapy and engaged in advocacy work for Transgender and Gender Nonconforming (TGNC) individuals, those newly diagnosed with HIV, and people seeking political asylum as a result of their LGBTQ+ identities. I continued my clinical training at The Fifth Avenue Counseling Center providing psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, recent loss, trauma related symptoms, and chronic illness.
As a therapist in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic at Bellevue Hospital, I provided therapy for teens, emerging adults, and their families to address anxiety related to social and family relationships, transitions, and school challenges, as well as depression, suicide, self-harm, substance use, and trauma. There, I helped to expand the clinic’s offerings for LGBTQ+ youth. Specifically, providing transgender and gender expansive youth affordable and accessible care related to their gender exploration and transition decisions.
Following my work at Bellevue Hospital, I became the Program Director at Dwellness In-Home Psychological Services, a Brooklyn based group practice. In this position, I helped develop and oversaw program development, collaborations, business development, and clinical service administration. In my next role as a Suicide Prevention Counselor at Baruch College, CUNY, I provided psychotherapy for students and helped to implement the school’s Suicide Prevention Task Force. Now, in addition to practicing privately, i’ve also held supervisory roles at Dwellness and the Institute for Human Identity. I am also an active volunteer member of the Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Team.
